So this morning I received a notice about a warranty replacement for my Kindle if it's developed cracks because of the Amazon Kindle Leather Cover I purchased to protect it, almost a year ago. Cracks it has indeed.
I have to wonder if the timing of this has anything to do with the Apple announcement to be made this Tuesday. That makes the most sense to me. Apple is supposed to reveal some form of "tablet". I intuit, that Amazon doesn't want to lose their current kindle customers, so they may be removing any excuse we have to jump ship, even at the expense of providing a new device. The customer support rep I spoke to at Amazon, volunteered to overnight the new kindle free of charge. Wow, that's customer service. You've got to appreciate that.
But I think the real game is all about the money I'll continue to spend purchasing books at Amazon for my Kindle. It might be to late for that though. Of late, I haven't been using my Kindle all that much and read most of my books on the iPhone while I'm on the go.
I really appreciate Amazon's willingness to get me a replacement Kindle, so that it's resale value will be higher when I move to the Apple tablet. ;) Does that make me a bad person?
