A couple days prior my daughter purchased a goat. She had the money for it and she's pretty responsible so I figured, "Why not?" Yesterday, I found I could give you a good reason.
Alexus named the goat Savannah. She walks the goat around like a dog. It's pretty cute. That morning I found her on our front steps leading the goat with a leash, really adorable. But there was a problem. The goat was very cold and shivering, a lot.
There's been a cold snap the last week and it was especially frigid yesterday. It started snowing soon after the porch incident. To make a short story long, the goat needs a shelter for the winter.
I stopped by the local farm store, Dallas Greens, to see if they had a suitable option for Savannah's home. Turns out they did, an all weather, calf housing. So I purchased it with plans to come back later and pick it up.
When I returned home to get the van, I discovered that the battery was dead. Nuts. The farm store would be closing soon and I wasn't about to have the goat rooming in my basement or garage. So I did what any independent American would do, I improvised. ;) The pictures below tell the rest of the story:
